FASTPANEL VPS Hosting combines a self-managed VPS with a web-hosting control panel for websites, domains, databases, PHP, SSL, mail, backups and scheduled jobs. The panel simplifies routine hosting administration, but the VPS still has to be sized for FASTPANEL plus the websites and services running behind it.
VDSina currently lists FASTPANEL on Ubuntu 22 as a web-hosting-control-panel deployment option on its Standard VPS. That is a provider deployment choice, not a claim that the server becomes fully managed.
For the broader server-buying decision, see VPS for website. For the generic panel decision, see VPS with Control Panel.

Quick answer
If FASTPANEL is the control panel you want, start with the website workload rather than the panel’s minimum requirement.
| Workload | Practical starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Panel test, lab or extremely light cached site | 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 10 GB | meets the panel’s published minimum-RAM floor, but leaves very little room for website/database/mail workload |
| One lean small site | 1 vCPU / 2 GB / 40 GB | more realistic room for Linux, FASTPANEL, database and a small number of dynamic workers |
| Business WordPress or several light sites | 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 80 GB | practical headroom for PHP workers, database, panel services, cron and routine admin work |
| Heavier dynamic site, mail-heavy setup or several active sites | 4 vCPU / 8 GB / 160 GB | more room for overlapping application, database, mail, backup and background workload |
These are starting configurations, not traffic guarantees. Use VPS sizing for website when you have real CPU, RAM, worker or database measurements.
Current VDSina Standard pricing checked on October 13, 2026:
- 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 10 GB / 1 TB monthly transfer — $0.07/day;
- 1 vCPU / 2 GB / 40 GB / 32 TB — $0.50/day;
- 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 80 GB / 32 TB — $0.67/day;
- 4 vCPU / 8 GB / 160 GB / 32 TB — $1.34/day.
Provider pricing and transfer terms can change; verify them before ordering.
FASTPANEL on VDSina
The current VDSina Standard VPS page lists FASTPANEL under Web hosting control panel with Ubuntu 22.
That gives this page a specific deployment path:
- choose the VPS size from the website workload;
- select the provider’s FASTPANEL / Ubuntu 22 option where it is currently offered;
- complete the panel/site configuration;
- test the website before sending production traffic;
- monitor real resource use after deployment.
Do not assume that the provider’s FASTPANEL option means server administration is included. The distinction between infrastructure support and ongoing administration is covered in Managed vs Unmanaged VPS.

FASTPANEL system requirements vs real website sizing
FASTPANEL’s official manual-install documentation currently states a minimum of:
- 1 GB RAM;
- 5 GB free disk;
- 1 CPU core / 1 GHz;
- a clean supported 64-bit operating system;
- root access.
Those are panel installation minimums. They are not a production sizing recommendation for a VPS that also runs:
FASTPANEL’s current manual-install documentation lists these supported 64-bit operating systems: Debian 9/10/11/12, Ubuntu 18.04/20.04/22.04/24.04, CentOS 7, AlmaLinux 8 and Rocky Linux 8. Manual installation requires a clean OS. That broader FASTPANEL support list is separate from VDSina’s current preconfigured option, which is specifically listed as FASTPANEL on Ubuntu 22.
- Nginx/Apache or other web services;
- PHP-FPM or another runtime;
- MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL;
- WordPress or another CMS;
- mail services;
- spam filtering;
- backups;
- cron jobs;
- monitoring;
- several sites and users.
A server can satisfy the panel minimum and still have insufficient headroom for the website.
A practical RAM budget
Think in components:
required RAM = OS + FASTPANEL services + web stack + database + application workers + mail/cache/background jobs + headroom
For example, a business WordPress site may need room for the operating system, FASTPANEL, MySQL/MariaDB, several PHP workers, cron jobs and backup activity at the same time. That is why 4 GB is often a more practical starting point than treating 1 GB as a default production target.
FASTPANEL VPS fit checker
Use this as a starting recommendation, not a traffic-capacity guarantee.
Choose the workload that most closely matches your setup.
The checker deliberately does not recommend the 1 GB tier as the normal production choice. FASTPANEL can meet its installation minimum there, but the websites and services still need their own resource budget.
What FASTPANEL manages
FASTPANEL’s current official site and documentation expose hosting-management functions including:
- website creation;
- domains and aliases;
- access rights and users;
- PHP settings and multiple PHP versions;
- databases;
- SSL certificates and HTTPS redirects;
- mailboxes, aliases and forwarding;
- file management;
- firewall rules;
- backup plans;
- cron/job scheduling;
- real-time server-load statistics.
The Site Creation Wizard can create PHP, Node.js, reverse-proxy, systemd-backed and static sites, and can automatically install WordPress.
This makes FASTPANEL useful when you want a hosting-oriented UI instead of performing every routine site task manually over SSH.
What FASTPANEL does not manage for you
A control panel is not the same thing as a managed VPS.
FASTPANEL does not remove the need to decide who owns:
- operating-system updates;
- root/SSH security;
- server-level hardening;
- resource monitoring and capacity decisions;
- backup restore testing;
- application/plugin vulnerabilities;
- database performance problems;
- incident response;
- recovery from a failed update or compromised site.
Use the panel as an administration tool, not as a substitute for an operator.
See Managed vs Unmanaged VPS for the responsibility split.
FASTPANEL vs no control panel
FASTPANEL is useful when you want routine hosting tasks exposed through a web interface.
A pure Linux VPS without a panel is a better fit when:
- you want a minimal stack;
- you are comfortable managing Nginx/Apache, PHP/runtime, databases and certificates manually;
- panel services/features would be unnecessary overhead;
- you need a custom stack that does not fit the panel’s assumptions;
- infrastructure-as-code or custom automation is your preferred operating model.
Do not create two competing pages for this decision. The broader manual-deployment path belongs to How to host a website on VPS; the generic panel choice stays on VPS with Control Panel.
FASTPANEL vs other control panels
Choose FASTPANEL because its workflow fits your stack and operating model, not because every panel solves the same problem.
Compare panels on:
- supported operating systems and versions;
- license cost and commercial terms;
- PHP/runtime and database support;
- mail requirements;
- backup destinations and restore workflow;
- multi-user / reseller / client isolation;
- migration tooling;
- team familiarity;
- documentation and support;
- how much manual SSH/root work remains.
FASTPANEL is attractive when you want its specific hosting workflow, current feature set and multi-user model. cPanel, Plesk, HestiaCP and other panels have different licensing, ecosystem and administration trade-offs.
For the generic panel-selection decision rather than the FASTPANEL-specific use case, use VPS with Control Panel.
Create the first website
A useful first-site sequence is:
- provision the VPS with the current FASTPANEL deployment option or install FASTPANEL on a clean supported OS;
- sign in and secure the administrative account;
- create the site with the Site Creation Wizard;
- assign the domain;
- choose the backend/runtime;
- create or attach the database;
- configure PHP/application settings;
- configure HTTPS;
- deploy the application or use automatic CMS installation where appropriate;
- test the site before public DNS cutover;
- configure backup and monitoring;
- send production traffic only after the application works under the real hostname.
This is the FASTPANEL-specific path. For the full migration/cutover process, use Website migration to VPS.
WordPress on FASTPANEL
FASTPANEL’s official documentation supports two WordPress paths:
- automatic CMS installation through the Site Creation Wizard;
- manual WordPress installation after creating the site.
The WordPress wizard handles domain connection, CMS settings and the site’s server-user credentials.
That convenience does not change the WordPress workload itself. PHP workers, plugins, database queries, caching, wp-cron and background jobs still determine how much CPU/RAM the VPS needs.
For that workload, see VPS for WordPress.
Multiple websites and user isolation
FASTPANEL is multi-user. Its official security guidance recommends hosting separate sites on separate FASTPANEL user accounts so that a compromise of one site is less likely to spread to other sites sharing the same account.
This is especially relevant for:
- agencies;
- client websites;
- unrelated projects;
- sites with different administrators;
- mixed-trust workloads.
Separate users improve account/file isolation, but every site still shares the underlying VPS CPU, RAM, disk and failure domain.
For combined resource and blast-radius planning, see VPS for Multiple Websites.
Email, databases, SSL and backups
FASTPANEL can manage mailboxes, aliases and forwarding. If mail runs on the same VPS, budget extra RAM, CPU, disk and backup capacity for mail services and spam filtering.
Do not assume self-hosted mail is the simplest architecture. Managed email can reduce deliverability and operations work.
Databases
FASTPANEL supports database management for MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL. Database workload can become the sizing bottleneck even when the panel itself is light.
Watch database memory, slow queries, storage latency and concurrent application work.
SSL
FASTPANEL can manage HTTPS settings and certificates. Confirm the real domain works over HTTPS before production cutover; an IP-only test is not sufficient.
Backups
FASTPANEL provides backup plans and supports local/remote backup workflows. Its own documentation recommends separate-server storage for backups.
A panel backup should not be treated as the only recovery copy. Keep an independent recovery strategy and test restores.
Security and updates
Use FASTPANEL’s convenience without weakening the underlying VPS security model.
At minimum:
- use strong unique credentials;
- keep FASTPANEL and the OS updated;
- restrict administrative access;
- separate unrelated websites into different users;
- review firewall rules;
- keep website/CMS/plugin software updated;
- verify backup jobs;
- test recovery;
- monitor resource pressure and website availability.
Official FASTPANEL guidance explicitly recommends separate user accounts for separate sites.
When FASTPANEL is not the right choice
Choose another path when:
- you want a completely manual minimal Linux stack;
- the application requires an unsupported OS or incompatible server layout;
- panel overhead/features offer little value for the workload;
- you need configuration freedom that conflicts with the panel’s managed stack;
- you actually need a provider or administrator to operate the server for you rather than just a control panel;
- a managed application platform would reduce more operational work than a self-managed VPS.
FASTPANEL is strongest when the requirement is self-managed VPS control with a hosting-oriented interface, not when the requirement is “somebody else must operate the server.”

FAQ
What is FASTPANEL VPS Hosting?
It is a VPS used with FASTPANEL as the hosting control panel. FASTPANEL provides a web interface for common website, domain, database, PHP, SSL, mail, backup and scheduling tasks while the VPS remains your server environment.
How much RAM does FASTPANEL need?
FASTPANEL’s official manual-install minimum is currently 1 GB RAM. That is the panel minimum, not a recommendation for the complete production website stack. The website, database, PHP/application workers, mail and backups need additional headroom.
Is 1 GB RAM enough for FASTPANEL and WordPress?
It can satisfy the panel’s published minimum and may work for a very light/test setup, but it leaves little headroom. A 2 GB VPS is a more realistic lean starting point, while 4 GB is a stronger practical baseline for a business WordPress workload.
Does VDSina offer FASTPANEL?
The current VDSina Standard VPS page lists FASTPANEL on Ubuntu 22 under its web-hosting-control-panel options. Verify the current order screen before purchase because available templates can change.
Is FASTPANEL free?
FASTPANEL’s current official site presents the control panel as free. Its manual installation flow still requests a license during first login, so verify the current licensing terms and any provider-specific conditions before deployment.
Does FASTPANEL make the VPS managed?
No. A control panel simplifies administration tasks, but ongoing OS security, monitoring, restore validation, application maintenance and incident ownership still need an operator unless a separate management service covers them.
Can FASTPANEL host multiple websites?
Yes. FASTPANEL is multi-user and can manage multiple sites. Its official security guidance recommends separate FASTPANEL user accounts for separate websites to reduce cross-site compromise risk.
Can FASTPANEL install WordPress?
Yes. Its Site Creation Wizard currently supports automatic WordPress installation, and manual WordPress installation is also documented.
Do I still need SSH with FASTPANEL?
Often, yes. Many routine hosting tasks can be handled in the panel, but root-level troubleshooting, OS maintenance, custom software, logs and some recovery tasks can still require SSH access.
Should backups stay on the same VPS?
Not as the only recovery copy. FASTPANEL supports backup plans, but its own documentation recommends separate-server storage for backups. Keep an independent recovery copy and verify that restores work.
